Thelma is involved in many Clubs supporting the community receiving
many Awards over the years.
In 2002 I was instrumental in achieving the Fisheries Tribunal through Cairns Supreme Court. This resulted in construction of the Detention Basin in Kanimbla and the widening of Moody Creek from Cochrane Street to Alfred Street crossings in Mooroobool/Manunda areas.
At the same time I obtained State Government subsidy funding for the Detention Basin to the size of a Q10 (one in 10 year flooding)
In 2007, I achieved kerbside numbering for the Mooroobool/Manunda areas, comprising of 1400 residents.
One of my main projects is to lobby for a better hospital system in Cairns and push for the Complete Cancer Care Precinct (COUCH) to be established.
I am very committed to lift the quality of living for the people of Cairns and will continue to address any issues you have.

My Great-Great Grandfather was the first Lord Mayor of Bundaberg and went on to become a Member of the Legislated Assembly. All information can be viewed at the
Historical Society in Bundaberg.
